We Need to Talk
If any part of what we
talked about in the article “We’re not alone” is even close to reality, it
seems like chatting with God or any of his helpers should be a lot easier than
most of us have experienced to this point in our lives. Why would our super mentor leave us stranded
on this insignificant little planet without guidance, to stumble our way
through an incomprehensible existence toward an obscure, unfathomable
destination? That just doesn’t make a
lick of sense to me. I’m betting – at least up to a nickel or two – that
two-way (yes, I said “two way”) communications with the “system” is actually
pretty simple and is just a matter of “tuning in”.
And no, I’m not talking
about having to use one or more of a currently available selection of paraphernalia
to make a connection into the Spiritual Web.
And – I’m also not referring to a requirement of having to complete some
type of elaborate ritual or enter a mental fog bank to assure a good connection
with the “other side”. Don’t get me
wrong here. There are all kinds of tools
available in this world to help us do a pile of different stuff. If you think a
particular device or technique will – or is – helping you get through the Great
Veil, then go for it. Whatever works for
you is cool.
In my personal opinion, just
opening our minds to the possibility of two-way communications is 90 percent of
it. As an example, most of us at
sometime in our life have had a surge of what is normally referred to as “intuition”. Now admittedly, some of this may be the
normal result of our brain’s wonderful ability to subconsciously retrieve
information and apply it without any conscious effort from us, to an immediate
situation. There is also a distinct possibility
that at least a part of our intuitive instincts are a result of an information
flow from “back home”. It may be
something like an encouragement to aim our lives in a certain direction or even
to perform one simple, immediate act such as making a phone call, checking out
something on the Internet or turning right at the next corner.
And think about some of
those nagging thoughts you’ve probably had in the past. You know, the ones where your inner self
keeps telling you that you really oughtta do this or you really shouldn’t do
that. Remember what happened when you
continued to ignore those gut feelings?
It usually wasn’t all that great was it?
But when you finally gave in and did whatever it was that you felt you
should do, most of the time it eventually turned out pretty good. The few times our results were what we
considered to be less than ideal may have been because we actually were
allowing our mind to play one of its little games – or maybe the immediate result
was simply a part of one of the lessons we needed to learn.
Is there a more direct route
to access the information we need (emphasis on need, not want) to do the things
we need to do? Yeah, I think so. I personally think that all we need to do is
ask for it. Ask who? Whatever or whomever we would consider to be
our primary source of spiritual information and guidance. God – or our personal concept of a higher
power, infinite wisdom, etc. – would be a logical first choice. If we are more comfortable with the thought
of chatting with a personal guide or some other type of spiritual mentor, I
don’t see any reason that wouldn’t work just fine.
I would be somewhat hesitant
about relying on another person to retrieve the information on our behalf. Even though I feel there are probably many
qualified, honest individuals (psychics, mediums, etc.) who have the abilities
to get at least some of what we’re looking for, I would bet that there are many
others who are more interested in digging into our wallet and feeding us what we
want or expect to hear. And – even the
most qualified, conscious, honest individuals won’t be right all the time. Because they’re all human, once in a while
their own thoughts (programming) will sneak into the picture to shade it
slightly. Besides, this old world has
entirely too many variables to permit 100 percent accuracy on any second-hand projections
or recommendations being passed our way.
So that brings me back to my
original suggestion. Let’s just do the
direct dial thing to whatever or whoever we consider our spiritual advisor to
be, express our thoughts and ask for the information we think we need. Then it’s just a matter of hanging loose,
being receptive and seeing what we get back.
It sounds way too simple, doesn’t it?
If you’ll re-read the second sentence of this paragraph, you’ll see
again the two key words that help to simplify this whole process. The first word is “information”. Yes, I’m fairly certain there are times when
events occur or situations develop that will benefit us. But if we’re asking to win the lottery, get a
new car, get bigger boobs, have a situation removed so we won’t have to deal
with it or asking for someone else to behave differently, we’ve basically
pushed the disconnect button. If we’ll
focus on the information, we’ve improved our chances of a reply dramatically.
The other key word is “need”
– not want. What we want and what we
actually need are frequently two entirely different things. In fact, there are times in all of our lives
when the last thing we want to hear about – especially from some really smart
dude on the other side - is what we “need”.
Man, gettin’ this kind of information may mean that we’ll need to change
our entire pattern of thinking. Or maybe
it will mean that we’ll really have to face one of our foundation fears and do
something really, really uncomfortable for us.
Yuck and double yuck! However, if
we are personally ready to accept and perhaps even act upon the information we
might receive, there is a very good chance that we will actually get something useable
back in one form or another.
Before anyone extrapolates
any of this into SillyLand, let me add a couple of clarifying points. Information back to us can come in a variety
of ways. It may be through thoughts,
dreams, words from any number of “regular” sources that “ring our bell”,
situations or events. We will in all
probability, NOT hear God’s booming voice directing us to do something. And for damned sure, we will NEVER be led to
intentionally hurt anyone in any way. A
love-based system just doesn’t work that way.
I know. There are those who will think my eyes are
brown only because I’m almost completely full of crap. But what if this communication thing is
really that easy? What if many of us are
passing up a wonderful, natural opportunity to learn the things we need that
will help truly benefit us and help make this life a bunch easier and more
enjoyable. What if…?
