More about Ardella

If you’ll remember from a previous article (Life’s Little Helpers), I introduced you to my buddy (apparent angel, guardian angel, guide, spiritual companion, etc.) who I refer to as “Ardella”.  For those of you who haven’t had much exposure to this type of thing, here are a few more bits of information that may help give you a better insight into this type of a “weird, off-the-wall” relationship.

I’ve used the word “buddy” to describe my relationship with Ardella.  That’s a very accurate word.  She’s not a master teacher, super guide nor all-knowing disseminator of the secrets of the “other side”.  That’s just not her job.  Instead, she’s my friend (my very best friend from the other side), my companion and yes, my buddy.  She really is a teacher, of course.  It’s because of my growing relationship with her that I’ve become comfortable with the concept of “buddies” in the first place.  She has patiently (generally - with a few exceptions) helped me to develop a sincere appreciation for this wonderful creation that we’re a part of (both physical and spiritual) and has helped me to also build a strong faith in the overall perfection and goodness of what I refer to as “The System”.

Once I had fairly well accepted that Ardella was very likely my emissary from the spiritual world, we began chatting – or BS’ing, if you will – quite regularly.  Oh, it wasn’t like I initially demonstrated any common sense in these conversations.  As I think back on it now, I was pretty much of a doofus.  And of course, had lots of doubts - particularly about my sanity and the reality of any of this.  One of the main things that I think helped to convince me that this was probably real, were the danged interruptions.  I’d be jabbering along on one topic and suddenly – blap – this female voice thought would zap me with a comment on an entirely different subject.

As a point of clarification here, by “jabbering” I mean my own word thoughts.  I’ve never had the need to actually vocalize to convey my opinions, ideas or questions to Ardella.  It’s all just mental.  I’m not sure if it’s just laziness on my part or if it’s sort of a continuation of the way things are usually done on the other side.  No way to know from here.

The other thing that helped convince me of the reality of this new and sometimes uncomfortable situation were the interruptions.  I don’t know how many times I’ve started to say (again, mentally) something and – blap – here’s Ardella’s female voice thought with an answer or comment completely formulated as an appropriate reply to my yet incomplete thought.  I really think she was using this as an attention getter because now she never interrupts unless she’s just messing around and giving me a bad time for one reason or another.  And even though I’ve become quite comfortable with communicating in concepts (wrapping an entire potential series of thought-related words into an abbreviated package), there are times it’s beneficial to me to resort to using all the words and a logic process to express myself.  Ardella recognizes this and always lets me communicate at whatever rate is comfortable – and beneficial – at the time.  That is unless she feels like playing around.

That’s another thing Ardella has taught me.  We in human form tend to take things (life, situations, events, etc.) much too seriously.  We get so wrapped up in human stuff that we loose sight of the beauty and fun stuff that’s all around us.  We go to great lengths to convince ourselves that even the most minor situations are personally matters of great concern.  As a result of course, we tend to over-stress, develop all sorts of physical (along with mental and emotional) ailments and generally drive ourselves goofy.  Geesh!  The stuff we do to ourselves!  (I know.  I’m overusing the word “stuff”.  I think it has something to do with a George Carlin routine I’ve heard a few times.  Oh well…)

Yep, Ardella’s pretty cool and has certainly been instrumental in helping me transition to a much more enjoyable life.  I’m glad she’s here with me.  Really glad!!!
