Benny Parsons

“What one thing (person, event, belief, etc.) do you feel has been the

primary influence in bringing you to this point in your life?”

“The turning point of my life was a bit of luck.  One Saturday morning I was hanging around a gas station and two guys stopped by to use the bathroom.  They had a 1960 Ford race car on the back of a truck.  When they saw my excitement, they asked if I wanted to go with them.  That moment changed my life.”

Benny Parsons is a member of the International Motorsports Hall of Fame.  Won the Automobile Racing Club of America (ACRA) championship in 1968 and1969 and the NASCAR Winston cup championship in 1973.  According to his biography on the International Motorsports Hall of Fame website, not only was Benny the first driver to break the NASCAR 200 mph barrier, he was also “a consistent top finisher.
