“What one thing (person, event, belief, etc.) do you feel has been the
primary influence in bringing you to this point in your life?”
“I believe that anyone can be what they want to be in life if they have desire, are willing to put out the extra effort it takes & have a positive mental attitude. All they need then is an opportunity & if opportunity doesn’t knock on your door, open the door and go out & find it.”
Andy Granatelli’s biography in the Motor Sports Hall of Fame web site states that Andy is “A racer, a car owner, designer, businessman, promotional genius, an automotive expert…” Known as “Mr. 500”, he has been responsible for setting over 400 world land speed records, designed engines for Chrysler, Cadillac and Studebaker, designed and raced the famous Indianapolis turbine engine car, owned race cars that won twice at Indy, turned a small company that he renamed as “STP” into a household name – and that’s just the short list.
