“What one thing (person, event, belief, etc.) do you feel has been the
primary influence in bringing you to this
point in your life?”
“As a child, I had parents who knew and
understood the importance of education and who made sure that I understood it
also. I was lucky. They were the primary influence in my
life. They made it clear to me by word
and deed that if I was going to have a better life than they had, I had to be
educated and I had to be a good citizen.”
Member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The following is excerpted from Alan Page’s
biography on Pro Football’s Hall of Fame web site: “During Page's tenure, the Vikings won four
of the five NFL/NFC title games in which they played. Page, who in 1971 was
named the National Football League’s Most Valuable Player, was only the second
defensive player to be accorded such an honor. He was also named the league’s
Defensive Player of the Year in 1971 and 1973. Page earned All-Pro honors six
times, and was named second-team all-league three additional times. Voted to
nine straight Pro Bowls, Page was named to an all-conference team ten times.”
“After retiring
from pro football, Page became a lawyer and was elected to the Minnesota
Supreme Court.”
