So, What’s
the Point?
Yeah, that would be my
question, too. In past articles, we’ve
talked about some my off-the-wall spiritual concepts related to God, heaven and
what the heck we’re doing here on this old planet. If I were totally immersed in one of the more
mainstream spiritual (you may translate this to “religious” if you wish) belief
systems, I’d immediately classify old Gene’s concepts somewhere in the range
from “Totally Weird, Dude” to “Absolute Blasphemy – Gene’s Goin’ to Hell!!”
So what’s the point? Well - in line with the main purpose of the
NuPathz web site (promoting thinking and positive questioning of our personal
programming), here are some of the benefits I’m seeing personally through the
modifications I’ve made to my own spiritual thinking.
1. The pressure is OFF! Huh? Without
going into a bunch of details here about the intricacies - and frequently
demands - of the various belief systems, suffice it to say that I much prefer
the simplified approach. This way I can
honestly enjoy being an active participant in a totally loving, teaching,
forgiving system. Moreover, I’ve found
that I can have a hell of a lot of fun interacting with the system without
worrying about being “proper” or the consequences of not following a prescribed
process.
2. I’m comfortable knowing
that even though my personal belief system is somewhat off-the-wall, it’s
OK. Just as I would imagine, almost
every other belief system is probably OK too. (Yeah, I’m fudging on this a bit.
Worshiping the south end of a north bound pig may not provide the outcome
expected…) There are an infinite number of paths to God (understanding,
enlightenment, oneness with creation, etc.) and we are probably given the
latitude to be able to pick the one that works best for us personally. My guess is that we’ll all likely wind up
back home no matter which path we choose to follow.
3. The mysterious has become
demystified – and the supernatural has become completely normal. We’ll chat about some of this stuff a bit
more on down the road. I think that
someday we’ll be able to all move past the spiritual “earth is the center of
the universe” mindset. Maybe we’ll even
have scientific proof of some of this.
Maybe…
4. I am able to enjoy life almost
completely - with surges to one hundred percent. (That’s like “Almost Totally, Dude!”) I am able to feel love for the “system” and
all of its components – and yes, for every individual who is a part of the
system. Oh sure, some parts of this life
are a major pain in the butt and even though this is not a particularly easy
ride, it’s still fandamntastic!
Enough of my
rationalizations (they may be just that, huh?)
Here are a couple of things to think about. First, life can ultimately be truly
enjoyable! Mine – yours – everybody’s. From the above and from the previous articles,
it should be fairly evident that this enjoyment doesn’t depend on the external
factors and influences in our life. It’s
what comes from within us. It’s using
our mind and thought process to benefit us as opposed to letting them run wild
and controlling us. I’ve chosen my ways
of thinking – and my spiritual beliefs – so that I can get the greatest
personal benefit from my short stay here on earth and so that I can really
enjoy it at the same time.
And that brings us to the
second point. If you are not really
enjoying your life right now, why not take some steps that will move you in
that direction? Just reading this
indicates that you might at least be giving it some thought. So take another step – and another – and
another. If you can use a few of the
thoughts I’ve been providing, great! If
not – then take the time to find some that might work for you. Check out the NuPathz site’s links. Grab some of the terrific books that are
readily available. Find a mentor to help
guide your way. I repeat – life can be
totally, one hundred percent enjoyable!
Well, maybe not all the time but cruisin’ along at 90 – 95 percent is
pretty danged good, don’tcha think?
